Ever since I got started as an entrepreneur, I have ventured into many businesses that required me to do importation from China.
This made me learn a very valuable lesson earlier in business from dealing with the Chinese.
The lesson has been an inspiration that has always guided me through scary and tough times.
And it has saved me lots of troubles both in business and personal life.
I have applied this principle in many ways that I have made it a personal companion.
I now call it the “Secret to Thriving in an Un-thriving Economy”.
And every time I think about it, I wonder why most individuals and every other country in the world are not imbibing the same principle.
As an individual, this principle will grow your personal economy and make you self-sustained.
For countries, it will make their economy grow and prosper.
Their citizens will have more confidence and believe more in their country
And the country will become very powerful.
Anyhow, what’s the principle?
It’s simple and it’s this…
It’s either you “Produce or Die”
This is the main thing that changed China from a poor suffering country to start competing with the almighty USA as the world’s largest economy in a few years.
What did China do to achieve this milestone in a short period?
They “Produce”.
They turn their economy from a consumer base to a production dominated economy.
They started producing not only what they consume but produce in excess and start selling to the whole world.
They focus on production and put infrastructures in place to make their production easier and better every day.
And they become the world’s “production hub”.
What in the world is China not producing?
Drugs, Gadgets, even artificial humans… -:)
Think of big brands like Apple, other big phone brands and lots of other mega producing brands. They all have major production factories located in China.
Most Chinese speak bad English but they don’t care, their goal is to always produce and make sales.
They don’t care how many times you ignore them or how bad you communicate with them.
They will still follow up on you in order to make sales.
Making sales itself is an act of production.
This brings me to another point.
A very important aspect of production is selling.
Production is incomplete without selling. Somebody has to consume what you produce to complete your production cycle.
If no human or animal uses what you produce, your production is useless.
So, production is not only about building physical stuff.
Getting better at a skill is an act of production and getting that skill useful to others is an act of production.
The most valuable production skill that helps you get whatever you produce into the hands of people and make it useful to them is “the ability to sell”
If you can make yourself great at selling, you can thrive in any economy.
If you’re in business; no matter what other thing you produce; if you can’t “produce sales”, your business is at risk.
I’ve told people this severally: “You can solve almost any problem in life with selling”.
If you want a job, no matter your profession; learn to sell yourself, you will always get the job of your dream.
If you have no skill to produce any other thing but you’re great at selling, you can partner with others to sell what they produce and start profiting from that
It’s that simple.
With the great ability to sell, you would stop worrying so much.
Because you know you have the ability to produce whatever you want by selling.
Yes, things can be tough and there might be setbacks.
But everything will always take care of itself if you start producing by selling and keep getting better at it.
And guess what?
You don’t need to do it the hard way like one-on-one selling, cold calling, hawking etc.
The Internet has given everyone a level playing ground.
You have the ability to research what people want or need help with, gather them together as an audience, and start serving them what they want to convert them into customers.
You can set it up and automate it to produce sales that translate into cash in your bank even while you sleep.
That’s simply a selling system that can build you profitable cash flow and a thriving business.
I can assure you one thing, no matter how “stuffy” things get, if you sharpen your ability to produce by selling, you’ve got nothing to worry about because you will always create a way out.
Your ability to sell is the most valuable skill you have no matter where you find yourself on this planet.
It’s the ultimate asset and investment.
It’s like planting the proverbial “Money Tree”–you have to water it, care for it and let it Grow…this way, you will immune yourself against all diseases that not having money creates.
